The Port of Dover has appointed Fishburn Hedges to an integrated brief as it presses ahead with plans for a second terminal and formulates an initiative to bring in fresh investment. The brief includes providing public affairs and PR support for the Port including both corporate and financial media relations advice.
Fishburn Hedges beat five other agencies at pitch-stage to win the business. The team will be led by Lucy Burns, head of public affairs, and will include directors Andy Berry and Jason Nisse as well as Paul Hodgson, Dan Bradley and David Harman.
Tim Waggott, Director of Finance and Commercial, Dover Harbour Board, said:
"The Port of Dover is Europe's busiest Ro-Ro port and we've got ambitious plans to expand future capacity with four new Cross-Channel ferry berths, and play our part in regeneration of the town and harbour area. We are delighted to have appointed Fishburn Hedges as part of our ongoing efforts to communicate our vision for Dover to local people, and to regional and national stakeholders."
Lucy Burns, Director and Head of the Fishburn Hedges PA practice, said:
"Dover is an iconic Port, and an important gateway to the UK, and we're looking forward to explaining the exciting planned developments to a range of audiences. We'll bring to bear our experience of financial, public affairs and media audiences in a coordinated way, communicating both the challenges currently faced by the Port and the potential benefits that future developments will bring to Dover and to UK plc."
