The Responsibility in Gambling Trust (RIGT) has appointed Fishburn Hedges to help educate gamblers about how to manage their gambling and about their new rights when gambling laws are liberalised in September. RIGT is Britain’s largest problem gambling charity and funds treatment, research and education about responsible gambling.
FH will be working on a strategy to publicise RIGT’s new Gamble Aware website and to ensure that it is seen as an impartial and authoritative source of information on all forms of gambling, from bingo to betting, slot machines and online poker.
RIGT Communications Director, Jo O’Driscoll, said: “Fishburn Hedges have tremendous experience of public awareness campaigns and we’re delighted to have them on board to help us promote responsible gambling. Gamble Aware will help people understand how to gamble responsibly, what their rights as consumers are, and where to get help if they feel they may have a problem. We need to make sure that gamblers of all kinds are aware of the new site and include it in their online favourites. FH will be working with us to promote Gamble Aware across all media, and to encourage gambling operators to signpost and link to the site wherever possible.”
Fishburn Hedges Director, Ron Finlay, said: “RIGT will be providing an invaluable service to everyone from the novice to the experienced gambler. Our message will be to make sure you understand what you’re doing before you gamble - information makes for a better better.”
