Fishburn Hedges has recruited Jason Nisse as a Board Director. Previously business editor of The Independent on Sunday, and most recently media relations director at Barclays, Jason brings over twenty years of media experience to Fishburn Hedges. He will join the consultancy in early September, focusing on corporate and financial clients.
At Barclays, Jason co-ordinated media relations for one of the world’s largest and most complex banking groups and one of the UK’s largest companies. Prior to this he was business editor of The Independent on Sunday for seven years, where he revitalised the section in a competitive Sunday broadsheet market.
Before joining The Independent on Sunday, Jason was business news editor at The Times, and has also worked on the Sunday Business, where he was part of the initial launch team, The Financial Mail on Sunday, The Independent and the Daily Telegraph. He started his career in journalism at The Banker.
Simon Matthews, chief executive of Fishburn Hedges, commented:
“We are delighted that Jason is to join Fishburn Hedges. He will bring a level of insight into the news agenda and a depth of experience in media strategy that will be of enormous benefit to all of our clients – particularly when we are advising on complex and sensitive reputational issues. Jason’s expertise will also be very valuable as we continue to develop our City PR capabilities.”
Jason Nisse said:
“Having spent nearly two decades in business journalism, and after gaining some really good experience at Barclays, I am excited by the fresh challenge of joining a consultancy. Fishburn Hedges has a great reputation within the industry and boasts an excellent corporate client list. I am looking forward to bringing my experience to FH’s existing and new clients, as well as working with its consultants to develop their media relations skills.”
Fishburn Hedges has also made a number of internal promotions. Associate Directors Alex Moore, Martin Brown and Barney Wyld have been promoted to the Fishburn Hedges board. Adam Keal and Katherine Scott, both previously consultants, have been promoted to the position of Associate Director.
